K3D (High-Toughness Die Casting Aluminum Alloys)
[Advantages]
Al-Si system alloy with good castability.
Excellent corrosion resistance.
Even if left as cast, the balance of strength and ductility is good, and heat treatment will further increase the strength.
The eutectic Si can also be modified, further enhancing the toughness.
[Alloy composition]
Al-8Si-Mg-Fe-Mn
[Applications]
- ・Motorcycle wheels
- ・General die casting parts requiring toughness and corrosion resistance

ST-K, ST-J, ST-H (High-Strength Wear-Resistant Die Casting Aluminum Alloys)
ST alloys are hypereutectic aluminum-silicon alloys for die castings with excellent wear resistance. The Si content has been optimized to get homogeneous and fine primary Si, providing excellent wear resistance, toughness, and strength.
[Advantages]
These alloys can be selected according to requirements for strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal conductivity, as well as wear resistance.
The homogeneity of the grain sizes of the fine primary Si has been improved.
Excellent fluidity and castability, giving improved die-casting productivity.
Compared to JIS ADC14, the melting and casting temperatures can be decreased, which reduces the energy requirements for production.
[Alloy composition]
Al-(13 to 15)Si-(Cu)-Fe
[Applications]
- ・Automatic transmission valve bodies
- ・Sliding components such as automotive compressors, etc.
- ・Wear-resistant transmission components such as shift forks
